On the first burn, let wax melt almost to the glass edge (up to 3 hours) to ensure an even burn.
Keep the wick centred, straight, and trimmed; remove any charred tip before relighting. If off-centre, gently reposition while lit.
If the wick smokes, extinguish, trim, and relight.
Keep glass rim clean with kitchen roll and position the candle away from draughts, flammable items, or heat-sensitive surfaces.
Never leave a lit candle unattended or near children and pets, and avoid the flame touching the glass.
To extinguish, replace the lid to starve the flame of oxygen. For emergencies, use a fire blanket—never water.
