Description
Boia draws inspiration from the ancient figure of the executioner—an ambivalent symbol of justice, power, and shadow. From the Greek boutypos, “ox slayer,” to the feared executioner of medieval courts such as Gradara, this character embodied both order and darkness. Created by Paolo Terenzi, Boia transforms this duality into scent: a journey into the depths of the soul where light and shadow coexist. It invites the wearer to confront inner contrasts, embracing strength and vulnerability in a harmonious balance.
The fragrance opens with velvety Bulgarian Rose illuminated by sparkling Sorrento Lemon, enriched by the golden opulence of Iranian Saffron and the intriguing depth of Sri Lankan Davana. The heart unfolds with Portuguese Santolina and Italian Lavender, softened by Indian Coumarin and darkened by New Guinea Cypriol and Singapore Patchouli, while Ambergris adds magnetic continuity. The base reveals Australian Sandalwood wrapped in Madagascar Vanilla, intensified by Indian Ambrette and Greek Opoponax—leaving a trail both powerful and hauntingly sensual.
