Madagascar vanilla is associated with Vanilla planifolia pods grown on the island. Its familiar sweetness can be rounded and warm, with woody or balsamic aspects that give more substance than a simple sugar impression. A perfumery absolute from Madagascar, for example, may help soften flowers or enrich a cocoa-like gourmand accord.
