WOODY AMBERY NOTES
Woody ambery notes combine a wood-like structure with amber warmth. They may feel smooth and velvety or drier and more forceful; the name does not always mean a sweet mixture of vanilla and resins. Modern fragrance materials can themselves have both woody and ambery facets, so this description need not refer to two separate ingredients.
In a perfume, the effect can give flowers body, extend a woody theme or create a warm contrast with fresh notes. The balance varies with the materials and their proportions. Amber here describes a scent character, not a promise of fossil amber or natural resin in the bottle. Soft texture also does not establish how strongly or how long the finished perfume will project.
