WARDIA® (ROSE)
Wardia® is a composed rose base from Firmenich, giving perfumers a developed floral character to work with. Its defining impression is rich and powdery, with a full, heady rose presence. Here, powdery suggests a soft cosmetic texture around the flower rather than a dry ingredient added to the bottle. The result can support a rose-led composition or provide a floral counterpoint to deeper notes.
A perfumery base is a blend of materials, not a single aroma molecule and not automatically a rose absolute. Firmenich dates Wardia’s creation to the 1930s, before the discovery of rose ketones, and describes oud as one possible creative partner. Those details identify the base without disclosing its formula. A Wardia note does not establish a particular natural rose origin or guarantee that every fragrance using the name will have the same strength, texture or longevity.
