VETIVER (HAITI)
Haitian vetiver can combine an earthy, woody body with a brighter grapefruit-like edge and a soft nutty undertone. That contrast is useful when imagining the note: dry roots and wood can sit beside a fresher accent, without turning into a straightforward citrus scent. These facets are documented in Haitian supplier materials, but their balance varies.
The natural oil is distilled from vetiver roots grown in Haiti. It is a grass-root material, not timber, and Haiti is an established source for perfumery. In a composition, the note can connect a bright opening with drier woody or leathery impressions. It need not be uniformly smoky, nor is it automatically smoother or better than every other origin. Harvest, distillation, further processing and the perfume formula all influence the result. The note name alone does not specify the exact oil used.
