TUBEROSE (INDIA)
Indian tuberose points to the flower grown in India, a source of intensely sweet floral extracts. Its scent can feel smooth and full, with a softly oily or creamy undertone beneath the flower. This is the same tuberose known in perfumery as Polianthes tuberosa; the country label describes origin rather than a separate botanical species.
Southern India, including Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, supplies tuberose flowers for concrete production. The concrete can then be processed into an absolute elsewhere: Biolandes, for example, sources its concrete in India and makes the absolute in southwestern France. Growing origin and final processing location are therefore different details. In a perfume, Indian tuberose can lend body to a floral arrangement, but its presence in the note list alone does not verify a particular supplier, extraction or level of sweetness.
