TUBEROSE
Tuberose has a full white floral scent with creamy sweetness and a waxy, almost fleshy impression of petals. Its richness can carry warm spicy and balsamic nuances, giving the flower more texture than a simple sweet bouquet. In perfume it can make a floral composition feel rounded and abundant, although the strength of that effect depends on how it is used.
The flower, known in perfumery as Polianthes tuberosa, is native to Mexico and is cultivated in southern India. Natural tuberose absolute is made by processing a flower concrete through solvent extraction. It can sit alongside other floral materials in a composition; the finished note may also be shaped as an accord. A tuberose listing therefore describes a floral impression without guaranteeing natural absolute, a particular growing country or a fixed position in the fragrance.
