SEA BREEZE

Sea breeze is an accord that suggests air moving over water: fresh, open and lightly aquatic. It can make citrus feel more spacious or lend flowers a cool, watery transparency. The coastal image may include a saline suggestion, but a perfume using the note need not smell strongly of salt, seaweed or a rugged shoreline.

This is a composed scent impression, not an essential oil distilled from wind. For example, Elizabeth Arden places a sea breeze accord alongside mandarin and herbs in White Tea, and describes its watery effect with lily of the valley in White Tea Eau Fraiche. These different settings show that the note can belong to a soft floral fragrance as well as a marine one. Its prominence, texture and development depend on the full composition.
