RED ROSE

Red rose in perfume names a rose interpretation with the image of red petals. It can feel full and velvety, yet still include fresh greenery, fruit or a little spice. The colour is not a botanical identity or a rule that red rose must be heavier than tea rose or rose de mai. Those labels describe different things and cannot form a reliable scale of intensity.

Jo Malone London’s Red Roses illustrates the range: its rose accord is described with fruity, citrus, green and spicy facets, accompanied by lemon, violet leaves and a honeycomb note. A bouquet-like freshness and a richer petal impression can therefore coexist. When comparing fragrances, look for the particular facets you enjoy rather than relying on colour alone. The note does not specify which natural extracts or aroma molecules create the effect in a finished perfume.
