RED BERRIES

Red berries in perfume describe a blended berry impression rather than one named fruit. Expect a fruity theme whose sweetness and freshness depend on the composition; the label does not tell you the exact berries or their proportions. It is useful when a fragrance presents the impression of a handful of fruit instead of focusing on raspberry or redcurrant alone.

Coreterno describes red berries with lychee, mango and spices in Psychedelicious, while Burberry presents red and dark berries with flowers, woods and amber in Her Eau de Parfum. Such settings can make the berry idea feel more tropical, floral or rounded and sweet. Read these accompanying notes when comparing fragrances rather than assuming that all red-berry accords smell alike. The name describes an olfactory theme, not a natural mixed-berry extract or a fixed formula shared by perfume houses.
