RASPBERRY
Raspberry in perfume evokes the sweet, recognizable fruit rather than its leaves or blossoms. It can be a prominent fruity theme or a smaller accent within a more complex fragrance. The surrounding composition matters: the same named note can suggest a bright fruit-and-flower combination or appear against a darker leather background.
Mugler presents Angel Nova with raspberry, lychee and rose in a fruity, floral, woody composition. Tom Ford lists raspberry alongside saffron, thyme, olibanum and leather in Tuscan Leather. These examples show why a raspberry note does not automatically mean a sugary dessert fragrance. For discovery, consider whether you want fruit to lead the scent or provide contrast to flowers, woods or leather. The note label describes an olfactory effect; it does not confirm raspberry juice, a natural extract or one particular molecule in the formula.
