PINK PEPPER (MADAGASCAR)

Madagascan pink pepper combines aromatic spice with citrus freshness and a green edge. A woody, pine-like and resinous side can give that bright impression more substance. IFF’s pink pepper material offers a documented reference: its Schinus terebinthifolius berries are sourced through producers in southeastern Madagascar and processed by supercritical carbon dioxide extraction. This is one form of the ingredient, not a recipe for every fragrance bearing the regional note. The country does not justify claims of extra richness from a tropical climate, or identify the berries as Schinus molle.

In a composition, pink pepper can give citrus notes a spicy edge or make a floral and woody blend feel brighter. It need not dominate the fragrance or remain confined to its opening. A pink pepper note describes a scent effect: it does not establish which berry extract, if any, a particular perfume contains.
