PELARGONIUM
Pelargonium brings the idea of scented foliage into perfume, often through the rosy, green and minty character familiar from geranium materials. This can feel more leafy and herbal than a soft rose-petal impression. Pelargonium is a plant genus, however, rather than one species with a single smell: scented-leaf varieties can suggest rose, citrus, mint and other aromas.
Geranium oil is one relevant perfumery material. IFF describes its Egyptian oil from Pelargonium x hybridum as rose-like, herbaceous and minty, with a little fruitiness; it is distilled from stems and leaves. This is a documented example, not the identity of every pelargonium note. In a composition, the rosy facet can connect with flowers while the green, minty side gives a fresher aromatic accent. The note name alone does not specify an extract or formula.
