ORIENTAL WOODS
Oriental Woods describes a warm woody-amber impression, rather than a single tree or extracted material. Think of pronounced wood notes wrapped in a fuller, resinous sweetness. Sandalwood-like softness or the darker, earthy character of patchouli can sit at its centre, while amber, vanilla or spice impressions round out the composition. These are possible directions, not a required ingredient list.
The name belongs to an older style vocabulary closely related to what fragrance classifications now call woody amber. It does not establish where any wood was grown. In perfume, the balance can lean towards dry wood grain, sweeter balsamic warmth or a more spicy expression. Flowers and citrus can provide contrast without replacing the woody focus. The label alone cannot tell you the formula, the source of its materials or how long the finished fragrance will last.
