OLIVE WOOD

Olive wood is a tree-inspired woody note whose character depends on the perfume. It can suggest warm wood within a greener, aromatic setting, or take on a darker edge beside leather. L’Objet places it with cedar and patchouli in Delphes; Maison Berger combines it with cedar and leather. These are examples of different settings, not a single olive-wood recipe.

The label should not be read as proof of a distilled wood oil. L’Objet describes a specific olive-derived absolute from branches, leaves and fruit, while a note list alone does not reveal its ingredients. There is no basis for assuming every olive-wood accord contains Iso E Super or Cashmeran. For scent discovery, consider whether the other notes favour leafy freshness, dry woods or warmer, softer contrasts.
