OAK CO₂

Oak CO₂ is an oakwood extract with a warm, woody character that can recall aromatic barrels. Depending on the material, vanilla-like sweetness, caramel or smoky nuances may accompany the wood. This makes the note useful for exploring the meeting of dry timber and richer, spirit-like or gourmand impressions. It is not simply the smell of damp woodland.

CO₂ refers to extraction using carbon dioxide. The preparation of the wood still affects the scent: some oakwood materials are made from roasted chips. The name therefore does not mean that the wood has never been heated or that all extracts smell identical. Oakwood is distinct from oakmoss, a lichen. The note label does not establish a perfume’s formula, dilution or longevity.
