MANDARIN
Mandarin suggests sweet citrus with the lively aroma released when the fruit is peeled. Its rounded, juicy impression can carry a soft floral edge, while a sharper zest keeps the sweetness from feeling syrupy. In perfume it can give flowers a fruity accent or introduce a fresh contrast to warm woods. The balance may lean towards ripe fruit or a greener, more tart peel, depending on the material and the composition.
Natural mandarin peel oil is obtained by cold pressing. Harvest maturity matters: green mandarin is picked before full ripeness, while red mandarin oil comes from mature fruit. Supplier examples range from floral, zesty green oil to smoother, sweeter red oil. A fragrance listing simply naming mandarin does not specify a colour grade or prove that a particular natural oil is present.
