KARMAFLOR
Karmaflor is a Givaudan fragrance material with a white-floral character, a green lily impression and the fresh fruitiness associated with tropical flowers. These facets give a more useful picture than sweetness alone: floral fullness with a green edge and a bright, fruity accent. It can contribute to a bouquet without asking the fragrance to imitate one particular flower.
Givaudan describes this salicylate as having been identified in the scent of Saraca asoca flowers. That connection concerns an aromatic molecule, rather than an essential oil bearing the plant’s name. In perfume descriptions, Karmaflor appears alongside marine, fruity or tea accords, showing different settings for its floral character. The finished composition determines whether those flowers feel more tropical, green or watery; the note name alone does not establish the perfume’s formula.
