JASMINE BUD
Jasmine bud evokes the flower at the bud stage, often expressed in perfume through fresh green and petal-like facets. That image does not necessarily mean a faint floral note. Gucci describes its jasmine bud material as giving a fresh petal effect, while Jo Malone presents jasmine sambac buds with a strong floral presence. Freshness and fullness can coexist.
The material behind the name depends on the fragrance. Coty describes one jasmine bud extract as a co-extraction combining natural jasmine material with proprietary aroma molecules. This is a specific approach, not a universal formula, and it does not identify a pure extract of unopened buds in every perfume. The note can suggest a flower beginning to open, while its green edge, floral weight and softness are determined by the full composition.
