FIG PULP

History & Production: Fig Pulp is generally an olfactory accord rather than a commercially important natural fig-fruit extract. Fresh figs do not provide perfumers with an essential oil that straightforwardly reproduces the aroma of their ripe flesh, so the effect is reconstructed using fruity esters, lactones, green materials, berry and melon facets, honeyed nuances, coconut-like notes, and soft musks, sometimes accompanied by fig-leaf materials to increase realism. Perfumers can adjust the accord from translucent and watery to dense, jammy, and gourmand by altering its lactonic, fruity, green, and sugary components. In fragrance design, Fig Pulp blends beautifully with fig leaf, bergamot, blackcurrant, pear, coconut, jasmine, orange blossom, honey, almond, cedarwood, sandalwood, vanilla, and musk, creating a luscious Mediterranean-fruit signature—the scent of a sun-ripened fig split open to reveal its tender, nectar-filled flesh, creamy, honeyed, and irresistibly succulent.
