FIG
Fig in perfume can combine soft, milky fruit with the green freshness of leaves and a woody outline. That contrast is central to its appeal: a fruity impression can still feel leafy and shaded, while a woodier interpretation lets the sweetness recede. The name may evoke more of the tree than a bowl of ripe fruit.
Perfume houses explore these facets in different proportions. Diptyque describes the leaves, milky figs and wood together, with cedar bringing the woody side forward in one interpretation. Hermès places sweet fig tree among green and floral notes. These examples show why fig need not mean an overtly sweet perfume. Read the surrounding notes to see whether fruit, greenery or wood leads; the fig label alone does not establish the materials used.
