AMBERY NOTES
Ambery notes describe a family of warm scent effects rather than one ingredient. Some lean towards sweet vanilla and balsamic resins; others feel drier and more woody. The term is broader than a single classic amber accord.
In a composition, these notes may give flowers a warmer setting or add contrast to fresh citrus. Labdanum, benzoin, vanilla-like materials and woody-amber molecules are different tools, not mandatory ingredients in every formula. An ambery description does not mean that fossilised amber or natural ambergris is present. The other listed notes offer clues to whether the perfume is sweeter, more resinous or more sharply woody.
