AIR NOTES

Air notes describe a sense of space and freshness rather than a single recognisable ingredient. Depending on the composition, that impression may feel watery, cool or softly green. An airy floral fragrance can suggest distance and transparency rather than a dense bouquet.

Perfumers create these atmospheric effects with fragrance materials; there is no universal air accord. Nor does the term mean that the perfume contains ozone or an extract of fresh air. The result can be light or pronounced according to the formula. Consider the other notes when choosing between a coastal, green or clean floral interpretation.
